Silicone wound contact layer is thin, perforated, non-adherent dressing. Placed silicone wound layer on an open wound bed to protect tissue from direct contact with other agents or dressings applied to the wound. Silicone wound contact layer is non-adhesive to wound and is porous to allow exudate to pass through for absorption by an overlying, secondary dressing. Silicone wound contact layer is indicated for partial- and full-thickness wounds, infected wounds, donor sites, split-thickness skin grafts and so on. It may be used with topical medications.
Both one-side adhesive and two-side adhesive silicone wound contact layers are available.
